Doing a little different today.

We made plans to go out today, but with Tropical Storm Nicole looming just off shore, we've decided to leave about an hour to two hours earlier than we had been. Around 1 pm we're expecting more consistent rain with landfall somewhere around midnight to 2 am tonight. So, we're trying to get ahead of the storm. With it being more tropical storm, we're not expecting wide spread power outages, but FPL (our local power company) is preparing for what power outages that may befall us. My husband and I aren't expecting power loss, but we're going to prepare and get some dry stock at the store just in case. I'm sure I'll get my workout today.
Chilly is making things easy by staying chilled out in the bedroom. Although I might give him an opportunity to come out later, depending on how conditions behave. At least the storm has ramped up I in speed, which means it's not going to sit and dump rain like Ian did.

Kayla, just be safe. Hurricanes, whether big or small, aren't fun. Snuggle down with Chilly!

Trust me, we know. George called out, because Pizza Hut refused to close the store. They don't see the danger in it. Even if the rains end by 11 (when the stores open) We are expected to have moderate to high winds throughout the day. Not to mention flooding or down power lines or trees. Or, both. Sure, we have power now, but we almost lost it a few times today.

Yeah. I once lived in an apartment that didn't have power for a week because someone drove their car into a power pole. You never know what people will do. Or, what the weather does. So far, George and I have lived through several back up events due to run of the mill thunderstorms. So having food on hand that'll last is a good thing.

@porwest When George wound up in the hospital, I was thankful for his stockpile habbits. We're nothing like those on extreme cuponing, but my grocery orders aren't usually that huge.

@kaylachan We usually have a lot of food around here too. Probably too much. But in a pinch, it will come in handy.

Yeah, stores were pretty packed. And, most were closing at 4.

@kaylachan It must be terribly stressful to those working in the stores.

@Juliaacv Yeah. I doubt the shores stores will be open. I don't know what time they closed the bridges, but they started restricting traffic at 4 pm, telling those who lived on beachside to be off the bridges by 5.
