Good afternoon from this side of the planet
. It's 3:10 PM here as I write this post using my phone. Had my lunch just now and I sat for some mylotting. Keeping myself an hour to be here before I go for my afternoon power nap.
.
I had a late lunch at 3. I had a long working day at school till 2:40. I took my lunch packed there but had no appetite to eat. A heavy breakfast of potato stuffed paratha( a popular Indian breakfast aloo Paratha) with curd and mango pickle made me stay full. I brought my lunch back and had a small portion now. I kept the rest to have it in dinner.
My work got over at 11 but I had to stay there to help some Middle school children make " Thank you " cards for the guests who will visit us for the Middle School Literature fest on Thursday and Friday. We have a two days fun filled Literature fest for Middle school. There would be a lots of activities, games and contests around literature. Students and teachers have been pretty busy in the last few days starting last week to put a big show
. All seem enthusiastic and excited
Tomorrow also would be long working hours for me. I will carry my lunch and hopefully I feel hungry enough to eat it there.
. Tomorrow I will help them with making few posters, decors and signage cards. I will be done with my sessions by 10. Middle school has classes till 12 ( they are having their classes cut down this week) and post lunch from 12:40 they are busy getting things ready for the fest. So, I will be free from 10_12. If I don't find something to do, I can always mylot in that time
It rained heavily last evening for few hours. But glad that we woke up with a bright sunshine
. It's has been partly cloudy the whole day but we had sun peeping out of the clouds frequently.
. There is prediction of heavy rain in the evening.
I move on to the notifications now. Here I leave you with the image of this gorgeous hibiscus from my garden that bloomed and greeted us today morning.

We had prediction of clouds and rain yesterday and today. Yesterday was cloudy the whole day but luckily no signs of rain. Today has been bright and sunny with no signs of rain
. Seems like the storm and rain in the coastal region of our neighborhood state is over.
Hope the rain is not more than what's needed and creating any mess. The temperature must be colder due to rain.

@CarolDM That sounds good. Here we had enough of rain and few flooding this year. So, we are happy that it has not rained in the last two days though we did get some dark clouds. It's bright, sunny with pleasant breeze today

Will the kids still have to give their cards if they don't enjoy the Literature fest? I resented having to make "thank you" cards in advance of an event when I didn't know if I'd even be interested in the event or not... When the teacher would ask for my card, I'd turn in a blank sheet of paper. When the teacher asked why I didn't make a card, I'd ask them to prove that I'd WANT to thank the people visiting the school. I'd get sent to the office for refusing to do the work and I'd call mom who would show up, ask the principal to prove I'd enjoy the event... After the second or third time that happened, I wouldn't get sent to the office over it. *shrug* Sometimes I enjoyed myself but most of the time I'd be bored silly.

Most of my teachers seemed to enjoy having me in their classes. I had a lot of friends in school. The principal wasn't always happy on the few occasions I was sent to the office, though. I always called my mom and she straightened everything out. I was never punished in school.

The fest starts tomorrow and will go till Saturday afternoon. It's a two and half day event. Students and teachers seem excited and the preparation is going well. Seems like that it's going to be a good show.
At least I see a lot of enthusiastic involvement in preparing for it. Kids are taking pride in organising a event so huge and each one is contributing
These children are artistic ones. They take pride in drawing, coloring and their calligraphic skills. I don't think that they were even concerned about the person who will receive their cards
. Each one was taking a pride in making their card and boasting to others about what a great work they have done. And even appreciating others.
You sound like a strong minded child
. Must have been tough for others around to handle.
. But then I do take that as a positive trait

@DaddyEvil That sounds good. I don't believe in reward or punishment. If I have to raise my voice for any child around, I do it only for appreciations. I prefer to stay polite and calm but quite clear about the expectations and boundaries. Your mom was quite supportive. Many parents won't be.

Well, there would be always some who just love it and some who just hate it to the core
. It's been with all generations. But at least the teachers and organizers have planned it so well that each one can participate in their way. Lots of games, fun activities etc are there.

Some of my lovely rose plants could not survive the bad rain this year.
. Grateful that some did. I had no heart to get new roses to replace them. I got some new hibiscus plants from nursery to replace those roses. They are hardy plants and survive well. This is one of them. You see these pots have newly planted hibiscus in them. Also got few seasonal flowers

Yes, I have a lot to keep me occupied. I generally have busy days taking care of job, household chores and other stuffs being a mom
. But then I think that it's a blessing to be busy
