So, we may have screwed up. But it is not our fault. The cold snap with freezes came sooner than usual and let's face it... We are complete newbies to this whole camper thing. I think we may have had some frozen pipes already. I won't know for sure until I get to Camping World's service department on the 26th of November. But it looks like the faucet in the kitchen is broken and of course we had the issue with the broken gray tank lever and both the gray and black tanks have 1/3 of stuff in them. I have no idea what we have in front of us as far as cost, but I have already set aside $3,000 just in case. Fingers crossed we don't have to spend it, but who the hell knows? Onward and upward and I will be sure to keep everyone posted as things move along. This might be a very costly lesson. I am just glad we can afford it. But still. What gives?

It's no consolation but there are always teething problems when you buy something as big and complicated as this motor-home. Hopefully it won't cost you too much.

@porwest Vince's external hard-drive affair broke and we couldn't find the warranty card but the shop had a record and it had a three-year warranty which was very fortunate.

@JudyEv I was very pleased because it saved us hundreds of dollars.

Luckily it turned out to be all okay and the faucet was even covered by the warranty. Slid right past that one. :::wipes brow:::

Sorry about the faucet and the lever. S##t happens doesn't it? I hope it's an easy fix.

@porwest It's like owning another house. It's always something.

@LindaOHio Yeah. I think it is definitely going to be like that. Besides the fact that anyone who owns any kind of camper or RV reminds one that everytime you take it on the road you subject it to tiny earthquakes. lol

Fingers crossed. I guess if I thought I would enter this "new period" without lots of hiccups and frustration I would be kidding myself about reality. Might need to put in some OT at work. lol

That's a pretty comfortable camper. I could just imagine the days you could go camping with it. I could live in that camper and just travel around, but I wouldn't want the expenses that come with maintaining it. It would be too expensive for my teeny weeny wallet. Have fun and I hope you can get someone you can do contractual work so you can have fewer expenses.

It turned out to be nothing but panic, thank Heaven's. We can't wait for spring to get here now so we can start using it again. Lots of fun ahead.

Frozen pipes in the camper is one of my biggest worries. We've only had 1 night cold enough here for it to happen and were lucky. This weekend is supposed to be warmer and I will be blowing out the pipes with my air compressor and this dandy attachment I found on line.

Me either. I think I am just in panic mode. I mean, it is not a good situation, but surely not one no one has ever experienced, or survived. lol

Things happen. And it could always be worse. Glad you are at home right now. Hope the damage is not too bad.

Nothing is unfixable or damaged beyond repair, just a question of how much money it will all cost. lol. And I'd rather use the money to CAMP. Oh well.

@CarolDM Luckily it was just an overreaction. No frozen pipes and the faucet was covered by the warranty, so all we had to pay for was the winterization. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. lol

I am sorry to know this happened. I remember when we had the camper years ago, that did not happen but we sold it at the end of summer. Way back when.

I am hoping we decide we like to use it as oppose to not using it. But it is way too early to tell. So far all I can say is that we are really excited about next year already. We actually had some warmer days and I have checked the camper a couple of times and I think we are going to be okay aside from the faucet. I think we dodged a bullet.

Thank you. We love it so far. It's roomy and feels very homey, and we actually call it our Little House. We are very excited about getting going next year when the season opens up anew.
