She didn't make it

It's almost a year now when my aunt called my mom one afternoon telling her she is not feeling well and worried that she might die and I heard her crying on the phone. Her fears come true. She died last night around 11 pm.
If they only diagnosed her as early as last year she would still be alive today. She is really weak in the hospital. The doctor said she is fast deteriorating and any time soon she will give up.
Her illness is really serious. It is a shock because she is a normal very active person and is not yet on her old age.
I feel sad for her, scared about the possibility of early death mixed feelings.
I still can't believe it up to this time. I just hope her family will be comforted by God. May her soul rest in peace.
We cannot really tell when will death come in our life.
Rest in peace. Aunt Stella, tita estella

I'm sending you and her family my condolences. The fact that this occurs at this time of year, in my opinion, is quite unfortunate. But we are powerless to change the situation because, as you pointed out, the diagnosis came a little too late and medical treatment cannot keep up with the sickness.

@averygirl72 That's true. The process of getting over that loss takes time. The first Christmas we spent without her was more or less very quietly observed and had no spectacular celebration, which was also a very difficult time for me because my mother passed away on November 13, 2013. Since then, our celebration has not been as joyful.

@averygirl72 Likewise to elsewhere, occasions would change when a specific person was no longer around. I come from a big family, and every Christmas, all of my cousins, aunts, and uncles get together. However, after our grandparents went away, this custom was abandoned, and they celebrated individually.
