And, no, I'm not talking about the song. However, after a long Thanksgiving day my husband has decided he wants to start decorating our house for Christmas time. Every year, we try to top what we did for the year before. and this year is no exception. George is looking to be fully retired (no longer working) shortly after the start of the year. So, he'll need little projects to keep him busy.

I can feel it now, he's going to start driving me nuts, making it hard for me to get anything done.

He's working on it, which tells me he's not as ready as he thinks.

My hubs is also going to fully retire in 2023.
He will go from working 50-55 hours a week to retirement.
He will go to our son's place every day and be the primary care giver for the twins after our daughter-in-law returns to work from her maternity leave.
So, he will still be working, just not drawing any pay.

That beats staying home all day everyday.

Best of luck with your decorating. The decorations should give you a Christmasy feel. I am not putting up any decorations in the apartment, the cats would only knock them down again.

Chilly is pretty good about not doing damage, but we still have the tree out of his way.

How about getting him to make next years decorations instead of buying any. That would really keep him busy.

The house has not been decorated yet since my relatives and myself are still working on our jobs at this time.

You know what, some of my neighbors, Christmas decorated before Thanksgiving...it made the place bright! Have fun, decorating!

Good luck with your husbands retirement and his little projects.
