Is " live-in" safe or is formal marriage better choice?

In recent days a crime has come to light which has shocked sensibilities of people of all walks. In the capital city of India a man murdered his live in partner and cut her into 35 pieces and threw away the pieces in a nearby forest one by one. In general, the Indian populace is still a traditional society. Most people believe in marrying in traditional ways. However, live in relationships have begun and are quite acceptable in city life. What is the foundation on which a live-in family can be built? Is it trust or is it just temporary surge of physical attraction? What do the two persons have in mind when they begin to live in? Because it lacks social backing the partners often separate . But that, it can sometimes end in such violence is extremely shocking! Have you ever encountered any such incident?

Not to that extent, but my ex wife left me for another man and started a live-in (we call it shaking up) relationship and went through several severe beatings before she wised up. There is usually no bonding of spirits in that kind of relationship, so physical violence is often the result.

Live in has become more used now in my country. But I donĀ“t this that this has to do with violence. The case you talk about is about murder and could occur in a marriage or in a live in. A person that murders and cuts up his/her partner is a beast.

Without knowing the circumstances and background, I'm not sure that it would have made any difference if they were married. I prefer marriage to otherwise too but domestic violence happens in both cases.

I think a formal marriage is a good choice.

I know many young couple who prefer to live together but not to get married in our day. There are so many divorces from married couples, honestly I think it's a good solution.

After this gruesome murder India has witnessed such gruesome murder in different cities and towns. Son and mother killing farther in Bengal. Father killing her daughter because she staying out longer. Live in relationship can never continue to for long and there's always trouble. I have seen tribal couples here who just live together without marrying and there's always trouble.
