New Week Starts

I don't like Sunday nights...means that I have to get up early in the morning. I especially hate that in the winter when it is cold, and it is still dark at 7-8 AM. UGH. When is summer? This week I am looking forward to the week even less. I see my endocrinologist Wednesday (as long as it doesn't snow too much). He won't be pleased. I know my A1c will be up some, not sure exactly how much. I am guessing at least I will be up to 8% (my last one was the lowest in 2022 at 6.5%) My weight is also up like 23 pounds from last time and at that appointment I was already up 10 pounds. So I have gained over 30 pounds in 6 months. That does not seem normal. I eat the same foods and amounts that I was eating in the past and I would just stay the same, or at least I would go up and down 5 pounds. But this 30 pound gain seems odd... I know I won't start back on my diet till January though....even though I know I really should now. Just know I would not stick to it more than a day or two. However, in January I am going to try harder in 2023 to stick to it longer than a few days and for that to be my lifestyle. Only allowing non-keto foods maybe once a month on a special occasion. Need to get back to making my low carb treats (chocolates, cookies etc) and make low carb cakes for holidays instead of going to carbs. Anyways, I will write out a better plan the closer it gets to January...and I will update what happens at the appointment. How bad my A1c is, and any other tests he does. I like they can do a really fast A1c at this doctors office. They prick my finger and can have the results in like 15 minutes. Anyways, that's my update....I'll update with more soon. Got to sleep now

I fully agree with you, if you have not changed the way you eat, it's absolutely not normal that you have gained 30 pounds in 6 months. At most you should have been the same weight.

I would understand maybe about 10 pounds at the most...but I am serious it is 30+ pounds. Maybe a lot of water weight...but still

@MommyOfEli2013 That is what I was thinking, 30+ pounds is a lot even for water retention.

I see lots of Keto friendly desserts at the store. I hope you can stick to your diet plan after the first of the year.

A lot of them are not truly "keto" friendly... Most keto "breads" are not really keto friendly either. I will have more luck sticking to it after the holidays....and the new year is here

My best friend is on the Keto diet and lost more 30 pounds. I found out last week that I lost about 2 pounds. But I might have gained it back. This week I hope I get my new deck. A neighbor came by to pull up some boards from my deck. Today he is putting in some dirt. Also this week I will be getting the stuff I ordered from Amazon on Black Friday.

People can lose a lot on it. I have lost weight on it before. That's great about the weight loss. Getting things you ordered is fun

A 30 pound weight gain seems unlikely if you haven't changed your diet. I hope things aren't too bad at the doctor. Hope you and the family have a good week.

@MommyOfEli2013 They can test for thyroid issues. I hope it goes well for you.

I just wonder if I have a thyroid issue now on top of everything. I know you can gain some with insulin too, but I didn't think 30 pounds in a short time. Oh I bet it won't be good on Wednesday...this doctor has helped a lot, but he's also pushing vegetables. He also says for my anxiety I should meditate - yeah that's not going to help my anxiety.

@LindaOHio but I wouldn't bring it up so he probably wouldn't. unless he comes up with the idea on his own. Also got to tell him that my pharmacy has not had my one medicine in 2 weeks now. Guess there is a shortage of it or something Edit: Apparently celebrities are using it for weight loss, rather than let those who need it have it....

@FayeHazel A short time of the cold/snow and such would be okay. But yes, after the holidays it should end lol. Here it could last until May. One year I think we got snow in June lol
