Gas prices are still dropping in the San Francisco Bay Area!

Don't worry. Our gas prices are still ridiculous here in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. Every Summer, when I drive up to Montana, they drop more the further away I get from here and the closer I get to Lewistown MT. A few months ago, they peaked at about $6.15/gallon for regular, even at my "discount" gas station. Then they started dropping. When the price of regular hit $5.45 on the way down, I was happy, though I did the math and realized my standard of living would not change because it would cost about $15 less to fill up my 30 gallon tank. I think I last write about gas prices here when regular was down to around $5.00/gallon at my station. Maybe I'll check after I post this. In any case, it was down to $4.85 three days ago, and only $4.79 yesterday. I decided to top off my tank yesterday. Why not? I'm off to pick up some groceries. I doubt gas prices here have dropped any further, but I'll add to this post if anything has changed. Are gas prices going down where you live?

Yes, at Jay's "discount" station, he paid $3.50 for gas last week. Today, Jay will be putting petro in my jeep, he'll find out if the price has dropped again.

I think they've just about stabilized for the winter. They may spike again in the summer, or when the snowbirds start coming down.

They continue to drop here. Do we have a genius as Governor?

@TheHorse Unless they can control the flow of supply and demand, then... I doubt it. Oil prices are reflective of demand.

I didn't stop to get gas today but we did look at the prices as we came home from Springfield. The further away from the big city we got, the cheaper the prices at the pump seemed to be. I will need to fill the tank tomorrow. We had 1/8th of a tank when we reached home. Gas was at $2.95/gallon here in our city. We were too tired to think about stopping to fill up the tank when we passed the station.

@TheHorse It's $2.92/gallon here, according to Gas Buddy. We didn't go anywhere to see gas prices today.

@DaddyEvil Do you have a sense of whether it's up, down, or stable?

@TheHorse We are closer to Ukraine than to Russia and this is extremely scary right now. There are no European countries that border with Russia, but Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland border with Ukraine.

C'mon down to the South Bay! Gas is currently $4.35/gal at both the Costco and the Safeway near my house.
