Crimson Hibiscus Blooming Inside

All spring and summer, I have a Hibiscus tree that blooms on the deck. Hummingbirds and butterflies enjoy the nectar from the large blooms.
In late fall I will bring it indoors. It will not survive the cold. I have the planter sitting on wheels, makes it much easier to move back and forth. For a couple of years, it only kept its green leaves with no blooms. But most years, I will see blooms.
When I first got it a few years ago, it was very small. And now it is over six feet tall. I baby it to keep it alive all year. And it seems to enjoy the environment.
Hibiscus is a tropical plant. So it makes sense it will be happy with the indoor heat. And each time it blooms, it lets me know just how happy it is.
Makes my day every time. I am always so happy to see the bright crimson blooms inside.
Photo is mine. Snapped from my living room.

@CarolDM Don't ask me where they have disappeared. I was kind to those wild trees that have engulfed our garden and that has resulted in so many of our flowering plants not blooming any more

Your hibiscus certainly is pretty and I bet it loves being indoors. Does it have a name?

The Hibiscus tree looks nice in this post. Happy for you that you take steps to take care of the tree year round.

I absolutely love those plants. I bought my mother one and it grew a few feet but she accidentally left it out when she went to Florida one year and it killed it being in the cold here in the winter. She revived it by bringing it back inside and putting a bag over it and it started growing again. We were shocked. I can’t remember what happened but then she killed it for good

@CarolDM I like low maintenance. I'm thinking about getting some cacti.

@LindaOHio Those are also low maintenance. Aloe vera is another good one.

That is a beautiful bloom and beautifully captured
. I have more than a dozen varieties of hibiscus in my garden. I love them as they are easy going and give plenty of blooms with little care and pampering. Since I have them in pots, I have to keep trimming them and the roots. A six feet tall hibiscus plant with such gorgeous blooms would be a beauty.
