Our last Christmas tree

I gave up putting up a Christmas tree a few years ago and this tree with its trinkets was donated to an Institute that managed differently abled kids. This tree had many trinkets and as a quiz I had asked the guests - mostly kids - to tell me what was the total number of trinkets that were put up on that tree. This was one way to ensure that the tree was looked at. A lot of work was put in there and just ignoring the tree was not what I had planned for When you visit your friends and family how keenly do you look at their Xmas trees?

I look long enough to tell them it looks nice and then ignore it after that. My tree is five inches tall, is made out of blue tinsel and has tiny lights embedded in the end of the tiny limbs. It uses one AA battery that runs the lights for about 36 hours. When the lights go out, I put the tree away again.

That will not take long for guests to admire your Christmas Tree.

@DaddyEvil I create situations so I can have guests over. I am having a rehearsal for songs we will be singing at the opening on that party I am hosting.

@allknowing True... It's probably good that Pretty and I don't invite many people into our home. I don't want to feel like I have to have a tree guests can admire.

Yes I love to see how their trees are decorated. My sister in laws looked so pretty last year. I love on Facebook people share photos of their trees it’s nice to see them since I wouldn’t get to see them otherwise.

@allknowing I am always sure to compliment them in person and online if I like them. Compliments make peoples days brighter. I like how you came up with a way to get people to look at the tree. Was there a prize to the one who guessed closest to the actual amount of trinkets?

When they are posted on Sites such as FB they do get comments but when one visits homes hardly any comments are made. They may appreciate them though.

I am sure the kids would have got busy counting them. A nice way to get their attention to the details

You are an artist. How do you draw attention of your guests when you have some art work up in your house?

@allknowing Actually, I never deliberately did that. Mostly people notice it or sometimes we just bring it up in a casual way during conversation

@arunima25 Not a casual way but in a diplomatic way (lol) I remember while I was in college even a new pair of shoes would attract the whole college. This girl had worn a new ring and she kept saying why her finger was itching. We got the trick and we said if it itches then just scratch (lol)

I used to enjoy going to my sister's home. She loved decorating for Christmas and always had a big tree.

@allknowing I don't celebrate or decorate any more. My family are all gone. Too hard.

That is a good thing that you spend time appreciating trees put up by others
