It's Time To Change Our Mind Set

Sure it would be nice to have an electric car, or put solar panels on our homes, even use wind turbines for electricity, and know we are helping our environment. But, these things aren't enough. We need to change our way of thinking. Since the late 70s fossil fuel companies have been being paid to hurt our planet. They didn't know how it affected the planet until more recently. Scientists say now we have about eight(8) years until we are up against tragedy. What can we do you might ask? We need to have our president declare a national emergency that will unleash the rights that the legislature has bestowed upon him. He can put a stop to fuel exports, stop issuing permits to fossil fuel industries, and stop subsidies. The government pays out $20 Billion a year to fossil fuel industries. Think about what we could do with the money. We also need to stop Joe Manchin. He is a politician and businessman who has held the office of the senior senator from West Virginia since 2010. As well as his stand on gun control he wants to get legislation passed that will stop research and money directed toward stopping climate change. There are only about two weeks in which to stop him. I want to find out more about how I can help this tragedy not happen. I hope you folks will too.

I think what we need to do is come to our senses about all of this. For one thing, we have the same people touting electric cars who also refuse to upgrade and increase the power grid. And beyond that, where does the electricity mostly come from? FOSSIL FUELS!

I think we're already in tragic circumstances. Winds are getting quite fierce. I came home from a Christmas Tea this afternoon to find various things blown around the yard, things that should have stayed put.

We are. I am one who didn't think it was coming so soon. I wish I had done something much earlier.

This has been a long-standing issue, ever since we've discovered to use the Earth's resources. While those ideas are good, they aren't practical. Sure, we might have more money to put into other products, but electric cars aren't ready for mainstream markets, yet. The average person can't afford one, much less power it. There are thousands upon thousands of people who still have combustion engine, and aren't going to give up their cars to save the planet. And, let's say everyone moved to electric cars? Then what's going to happen to those cars that are suddenly obsolete? What kind of waste would it produce? What about the fuel itself? The president stop the import of fuels or exports, because that's how we keep good foreign relations for other crises. You're talking about ideas that aren't ready for practical use.

That is what I was getting at. Those things are nice but we need to do much more.

Many people do not take Global Warming and Climate Change seriously. It is all barreling toward a tragic ending; and there is not enough being done.

Too many and they make the rest of us pay. Republicans are so rigid and are really pretty against doing anything.
