Logan MacNamara did what any mom would do when a raccoon attacked her five year old daughter Rylee when she was walking out of her mom's front door yesterday morning to catch the school bus in Ashford Connecticut..
When the raccoon attacked Rylee without any provocation by grabbing her leg and hanging on.
Logan showed courage in doing what anyone who loves their child by grabbing the raccoon by the neck area and yanking the furry animal and throwing the raccoon away from the front lawn as the raccoon.
Both Rylee and Logan after the raccoon went away, both females went to seek medical attention for bites on their arms and hands.
It is not known what caused the raccoon to attack the girl and her mom other than being upset over raccoons losing their home in the forest.

@kobesbuddy That is what why I am wondering why would a raccoon attack a little girl without any provocation from the girl herself.

@Deepizzaguy It was totally unprovoked, which isn't normal behavior for a raccoon!

Raccoons are so cute. Sad they are wild and mean. Their claws can be vicious.

That is quite the story George.
I had once seen a raccoon at a place I was staying. I was sitting outside and it was dark. I saw him sort of standing up and my friend was sitting next to me and I went to get closer to it and my friend said no don't it is rabid

The raccoon could have been rabid. I'm glad that the mother was able to intervene.

That is a scary thing. I have heard about raccoons that suddenly become rabid so I hope that is not the case.

You are right since a lot of sickness in persons who get bit by animals are rabies related.
