Umm, That’s Not Yours…

My 21yr old niece ordered a Christmas gift for another loved one. It was marked as delivered at 5pm. When they went to check, the box was torn open and the contents were missing. We walked up and down the neighborhood, but we didn’t find the contents. Unfortunately, the cats also knocked the camera out of the window (we didn’t know that at first), so we weren’t able to get the thief. My niece busts her you-know-what at work (and she works in food service). She spent her hard-earned money on a nice gift for someone, and someone decides to steal it. What the heck makes someone so entitled to someone else’s stuff? What makes anyone think it’s okay to do it? I mean, they obviously don’t care, so maybe I should be asking why they think it’s okay to steal from other people. Also, people have been home and in the living room all day. Nobody heard a knock, nor did the dogs bark, and it’s not uncommon for deliveries to just be left without knocking. Forget that there’s a sign on the door, or that it’s just common courtesy to let someone know their package is outside. It’s not unknown that there is a problem with stolen packages around here. I’m hoping she can get a refund. She got the product on sale, so I don’t know how that’s going to work. I’m not saying what it was because I’ve been sharing my ornament posts on Facebook, so I don't know who’d lurk on my other posts. But anyway, we were taught this as children.
