Off duty animal control officer rescues a cat who was trapped inside of a pipe

Riverside County Animal Services officer Christopher Peck who was at his home on Thursday afternoon near Woodcrest California saw a small female kitten who had her head trapped inside of a lead pipe crying for help. Christopher took action after he was informed by a concerned person that a cat had her head trapped inside of a pipe by using his own lead pipe in an attempt to free the feline. Christopher believes that the kitten who is now named Piper got her head caught inside of the flange while chasing another animal which required his services to use his tools to get Piper out of trouble. Since the pipe was 16 feet long and it was hard for the kitten to fit inside his truck to transport Piper to an animal hospital. Christopher who brought the pipe cutter was able to shorten the pipe and take Piper to the animal hospital where the veterinarians were able to use their equipment to remove the pipe from the kitten. After the pipe was removed from the head of a kitten, Piper was given a medical examination. Piper will be placed up for adoption at the Western River County/City Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley.
