I’m so glad we met through diving!

My partner and I met twenty years ago through the SCUBA-diving club, and we spent a lot of our early years diving around the UK (as well as a few trips overseas).
While diving in some tropical resort can mean just stepping off a boat in a thin wetsuit, with someone else to sort out all the kit and take you to the good sites, diving in the UK generally means carting all your own stuff about, often driving your own boat, and dealing with weather which may be cold and wet.
So when we first met we were both generally dressed up in bulky diving suits topped off with thick gloves and ridiculous woolly hats – or else the après-dive wear of big warm jumpers and coats (with gloves and woolly hats) in cold weather, or leggings and salt-stained T-shirts in summer.
So now that we are having temperatures of -8°C (17F) and I’m dressed up in four layers of tops and jumpers, tights and trousers, two pairs of socks, gloves, big scarf and a ridiculous woolly hat (and that’s just in the house) I don’t have to worry that he will be shocked to find the glamorous woman he fell for transformed into this frump!

Have you ever been on any cave diving trips to Florida?

@Fleura No, I’m not certified for cave diving. But where I live in north Florida, there are dozens of springs in the area with huge underground cave systems. People come from all over the world to dive in the underwater caves.

@moffittjc I've always been fascinated by cave diving and I have lots of diving experience and some caving as well. I have read lots of books but never been quite mad enough to do it myself!
Two of my heroes Rob Palmer and Martyn Farr:

@allknowing Luckily it has extended beyond just the one interest, because diving is not a very family-friendly activity.

Far from your partner thinking so,your dressing might bring him fond memories of the time together in the SCUBA-diving club.

He has the habit to see you with layers of clothing from your scuba diving meetings.
I met my husband 52 (almost 53) years ago, he was an associated in the office where I had been hired to work.
We were both very elegant, but now I wear my PJ early in the evening because I want to stay warm... an elegant PJ.
