Christmas celebrations are everywhere now. Companies, schools, different organization groups are already having their Christmas parties with full of fun. Games and exchange of gifts are never forgotten in every party. But, have you ever experienced that your exchange gift was rejected and returned by the receiver? A young pre-schooler cried so much when her gift was returned to her. She really felt hurt and frustrated. The bag in the attached picture was her gift. It is cute and girlie and liked by many little girls today. Children should be taught that gifts should not be rejected and should be appreciated no matter how it looks and what its value. We should always bear in mind that it is the thought that counts and not the price of it.

It never happened, as we did not exchange gifts with the school mates when I was a kid. Life was different.

@cacay1 I never gave back something I received as a gift, it's very rude.

@magallon We did not have this habit when I was a student, but what I received from relatives I kept, even if I did not like it.

During our time in school, we also had this exchange gift but whatever things we receive we accept it no matter what it is.

That's too bad! However, it had never happened to me yet and I hope it won't because I would feel frustrated and embarrassed

It is really frustrating if your gift was returned to you.

That's sad. Gifts should be appreciated by the recipient. You're right. Children should be taught to accept gifts graciously although they may not like it because there are always uses for each gift. I hope the girl recovers from this experience with a positive attitude.

I read from facebook yesterday that many people reacted to her story. She received many Christmas gifts sent by other people

It never happened to me when I was in grade school. We remember that we should be thankful that the person gone his or her way to go to the market to buy that gift.

@cacay1 yeah right.. The mother should have taught her daughter to be appreciative of whatever things she had received.

Pre schoolers are quite young and so authentic with the way they react. We can only teach them through living the values that we want to pass on. But I don't expect a preschooler to behave perfectly. They learn with time and growing age. Not sure how the adults/ teachers reacted.

The teachers reaction were not mentioned but the girl's mother was with her when she returned the gift. The mother should have taught her daughter good values.

It's so cute. Was it returned on the same day as the event? Did the receiver ask for a different gift?

You're right it is really a girly thing. I just can't understand why it was returned to the giver.
