Firefighters who are employed by the Rocky Hill Fire Department were called by a concerned animal lover who saw a Canadian goose who was trapped in an icy pond in Connecticut for is estimated to be trapped for at least two days.
The goose was trapped in the middle of the pond. The firefighters worked in two man teams with two other firefighters backing them up to make sure that the rescue of the goose would be successful which it was a success as the goose was released in about under one hour.
The goose was able to leave the area under his own power back to his home thanks to the teamwork of the Rocky Hill Fire Department.

@Deepizzaguy Thank you for your stories. I mostly read the awful news that the media loves to write about.

Poor goose. Glad they were there and able to get him out. I like watching them fly over our complex in the Fall.

Rescues of geese in icy waters is very tricky. Teamwork is important in these rescue missions according to the rescue team members.

So am I since the firefighters would be very depressed if they did not save a goose in the icy pond.

Ice fighters would be a very good name since it fits like a glove.

The goose most likely thought the pond was not that icy and he allowed his curious nature to trap him.
