Every family has something unique. We have many such and one was that we never ate fish on Sundays It was always meat and on most weekly days it was fish
We never wore clothes on other days that were meant for Sunday Mass. Mother would keep them locked up (lol)
We never had dinner before we said our Rosary.
These are some of the many.
Do you also have family traditions which you think are unque to you?

I do not think we have family traditions that are unique. My father always went out on Sunday morning to buy a special cake to have on Sunday lunch after we had been to the Sunday Mass. We always waited for my father to be home before having dinner.

I do not suppose anyone else took over that tradition after you lost your father.

@allknowing - Until we lived in Milan, my husband and I went to buy the cake while Mom was at the Sunday Mass. It was not the same, but we always went to have the Sunday lunch with my Mother until we lived in Italy.

@LadyDuck External circumstances over which we have no control make us change the way we live.

Oh those are nice Catholic traditions. I'm sad we don't have any because I did not grow up in a religious household. I don't think we have any traditions except being individualistic. Blame it on the Western culture. Lol.

@allknowing Nah, we really don't have any. We don't even talk to each other that much unless we need something. Lol. Sad but true.

Well, not really unique but the one tradition mom taught me was that real candles are prettier than electric lights so on Christmas eve I only have lit candles ....... since mom passed away I have not had a Christmas tree but I still do the candles.
