Those with winter season, do you shop in advance before winter comes?

I'm just thinking about some posts here. Many said it's too cold so I'm so curious about your shopping activity. How could you cross a snowy road? Is road slippery when it's snowy?
Sorry to ask I'm just curious for I live in a hot country rain or shine. I experienced winter when I visited Auckland. I was so scared. Its freezing cold and was shaking.
Do you shop good for 1 month consumption? Thanks for reading sharing is caring.

The 'winter season' actually lasts about 3 months. I don't think anyone buys three months worth of shopping to prepare for winter. And perishable foods usually are not good for one month from purchase.

@cacay1 I believe there is never a shortage of goods during the winter, and you also have a refrigerator at home where you can keep anything you need, so I believe you just need to save what you absolutely need. Going outside could be a little difficult, but thanks to vehicles and everything, traveling throughout the winter is much simpler now. They will probably take extra precautions because of the snowstorms because this is not a typical winter.

No I do not. I just usually buy as I go along each week if I can.

@RebeccasFarm , that is good to know that you can go shopping despite cold, despite in shivering cold. Just wear your jacket defender.

I used to live in the country, away from a little town. I found the roads hard to drive on when it was icy and snowy. I also found walking in snow to be slippery. I had to walk across a yard to feed chckens. The snow would pack and get slippery from ice. We used to buy things like rice in large amounts so that we would have basic food for more than a month if we needed to. We lived where we had our own water pump. Night time the temperatures got so cold more than once our house water pipes froze and the pump froze a little, too. Winter can be very hard on a person and the animals.

@cacay1 It was hard to care for the chickens in the winter. They are tough creatures. I used to lock the hens in the hen house as much as I could. We would string an electric cord from the house that plugged into a heater for the hens. I would pack hot water to them, too.

@sallypup, my God how crucial to live like that during winter. I'm sorry for the struggles you always encounter during winter season. It's good you have your own pump and bought goods good for a month. What happens to the animals? Do they have a heater? Thanks for sharing your experience during winter.

One cannot shop for 1 month's worth of food as it would spoil unless all you purchase is dry, canned or frozen food.
It is a season, you adjust, you wear a warm coat, you drive carefully in your car after the roads have been cleared of the snow and or ice and you shop like you would during the other seasons.
Getting outside, regardless of the season, is healthy. We all need fresh air and sunshine.

We always have a good supply of food here. You do learn how to walk and drive on the snow. Also layers of clothes is warmer than one big coat for going outside
