A visit from a friend

A friend came back from Australia for holiday recently just visited this afternoon. At first, she planned to just give me a gift - the honey she brought back from Australia and left. But we ended up standing at my gate and chatted for two hours. I didn't realize it took so long until she left. I felt bad for not inviting her to come into my house. As she is staying in Australia, we usually just WhatsApp each other but rarely talk face-to-face. It's nice to chat with her. It's so nice of her just visit me and hand me the gift. I haven't been really chatting with others for hours for a few years. Happy New Year to everyone! Picture: A gift from my friend

That's nice that your friend gave you a gift. In Australia itself, we are not allowed to take honey from one state to another.

I didn't know that. I wonder if my friend knows that too. So are you allowed to purchase and deliver honey to another state in Australia?

@kaka135 It might only be WA that has restrictions. We are so isolated, relatively, from the other states, that we don't have a lot of the diseases that they have in the east. I'm sure you're allowed to take it out of Australia.

Happy New Year to you and your family! I guess that IS one way to keep from offering her a drink... (It's okay... I'm sure, if she needed to use the restroom or get a drink, she would have ask you to let her in.)

At first she thought of just passing me the bottle of honey and left, she didn't even stop her car engine at the beginning. We started the long conversation when we talked about the kids..... (That's also one of the reasons not inviting her to my house, otherwise I can't talk much about the kids.... )

We actually planned to just catch up a little, but ended up we talked too much.... She really needed to leave because it was going to rain, otherwise we might just keep talking.

a honey for a present! wow i would be super happy if i got it! i love honey and it is super necessary in these cold days! chatting with a good friend always take time btw . lol ..
