Don't Make Squatting a Habit

I seem to learn something new nearly every day. Or at least I try to and, I enjoy reading the health newsletters I get on different subjects. I think this one is interesting and something we might not be sure about. Since this one today is of a more personal nature I am going to try to write it in a way that is in no way offensive. I'm sure we all have to use a public bathroom from time to time. Many of us use the paper toilet cover if available or use toilet paper to make ourselves a "nest" on the toilet seat. Or we just squat. Experts say that squatting over the toilet to pee is not a good habit to get into. It can cause some of the urine to remain in your bladder and, you could leak if you happen to laugh, cough, sneeze, or jump. Also, it is better to set rather than squat because the pelvic muscles need to relax. So, if you already have a bit of a leakage problem anyway, setting is better than squatting. I hope I didn't do too badly as far as word usage went.

I do try. I read something and if it interests me I figure it may interest you folks. I don't have a very interesting life so having these subjects to write about helps me have daily subject matter to post about.

@sallypup ..........It is abnormally cold this year. Usually, we don't get that much snow down in our valley. The one thing I really like about living here is that I am so close to the mountains. And a ski resort is just up the mountain from here. Boise is not large like Dallas but it is not really small either. And, we are in a valley so we don't get all the snow, it congregates in the mountains. I love it here. Have been here most of my life.

@celticeagle Tell me what its like to live in Boise? My young housekeeper has thoughts of moving to Boise though I told her its mighty cold and snowy. Wrong or right from me?

Sometimes my wife did it. And she didn't having any problem. Anyway, at least I know. I will tell her not to squat. What about standing while urinating like men? I think it's safer.

@celticeagle of course, men didn't squat while urinating. If they did, they're squating while moving their bowel.

You did just fine, I have never considered squatting over a toilet. I'd be too short to do this, anyway. I'm not afraid of germs, as long as there's no urine or mess on the toilet seat. I scrub my hands afterwards, very important.

Fascinating. Not many people squat these days, am I right? unless it is in emergency or for certain exercise movements?
