Work begins when you don't like what you are doing. Little children can do the most amazing things with such joy and fun. You were little once too, and knew how to turn everything into a game. So, turn your work into a game, and you will find joy and satisfaction in it. What are some ways you can start being playful with work? ~~~~ Personally, I am still trying to find the passion that I can enjoy, have fun with and make money.

It can be tricky to find something that fits all three. There's a saying that if you love what you do for a living, you'll never work a day in your life.

Yes, I've heard that. But... I thought I had found my passion in writing. Then I seem to have lost it. Then it felt more like work. Having developed fibro 26 years ago, I feel like I've wasted my life. I watch people do their jobs and think, "Wow! I'd love to have that job." But I'm limited.

@JudyEv I got two more rejections this week, but at least they weren't form members and gave me some positive feedback. Thing is, I'm getting up there in years. If it takes years to get one book published, how many more can I put out?

@patgalca I can understand how it would get you down after a while.

I think we all strive for that but don't always find it. I try to find joy in what I'm doing. Like making time to post on days when things feel real busy and chaotic, or feeling like I won't make payout, when I always seem to pull it off.

Good for you! I find joy in reading, but it doesn't pay the bills.

@patgalca Well, if you did some freelance editing, then it might.

@patgalca It's a thought. And, it's a way some people make money reading.

I wish I had read this before I dusted my etagere this morning. It's a tedious task and I should have put on some upbeat music and sang while I worked. Hope you find your passion

What is an etagere? Yes, I love doing things like cooking with music playing.

My daughter's fiance is in HVAC and he is passionate about what he does. I remember when he first started working he would show me pictures of the work he did. Lovely looking furnace there.
