Today is National Hug Day which strategically comes after the holidays and before Valentine's Day. Hugging is a sign of affection. It's more than just establishing contact with someone. It has an effect on physical and mental health. It is said to reduce blood pressure and heart rate. Releasing oxytocin, the love hormone, hugging is great for all ages. Showing affection is good for what ails you.
It's been a thing since 1986. It was created by Kevin Zaborney who is the Senior Distributed Systems Engineer for Lifetime Healthcare Companies in Michigan. Kevin created it to spread compassion and kindness. The holiday is observed in the United States, the United Kingdom, and globally.

Right back at 'ya. I'm a hugger; and I love hugs. Definitely lowers your blood pressure and makes you feel good.
