Do you prefer Coke or Pepsi?

I'm not a big soda person. My mother didn't allow us to have it growing up. My first job was at a boardwalk pizza place. They are famous for serving birch beer but they also served Pepsi products. This was before the days of bottled water and other alternatives so I would drink diet Pepsi while at work. It was just what I became used to. Soda still isn't something that is really part of my life. Sure I'd get one on a Saturday or Sunday morning having breakfast at the diner with a massive hangover from the night before. I always ordered diet Pepsi. Every now and then if I get a soda craving (which is very rare) I go with diet Pepsi. Anyway the midwestern fast food chain Culvers has apparently pissed off scores of their regular customers by announcing that they were switching from Pepsi to Coca Cola products. It isn't around here and the only reason I've ever heard of it before is because @porwest often eats there when he is traveling for work. I don't eat fast food and don't drink soda often enough for such a change at a restaurant or whatever to upset me. If I *really* wanted a soda, I'd be fine having a Diet Coke instead. In true first-world-problem fashion, though, many Americans are outraged by the company's switch.

I would choose a sugar-free coke, over Pepsi. I don't drink carbonated beverages any more. We went to Culvers, their prices are too high and the food isn't that good.

I like both soft drinks a lot. My preference is Coca Cola though.

When my husband and I go out to eat, we bring our own drinks. No one has ever said a thing. But, to answer the question, My husband is a Pepsi person and I'm coke all the way.

Neither, because I don’t drink sugary drinks. I do like Coke Zero, though, because it does actually have a hint of taste to it.

Growing up, I preferred RC Cola to either Pepsi or Coke. As an eastern North Carolina boy, when it comes to choosing between Coke and Pepsi, I favor Pepsi. I saw the article about Culver's replacing Pepsi with Coke. I think they are making a mistake messing with such a longstanding tradition.

@NJChicaa I love both Pepsi and Cola. I have one place where I can buy Pepsi around where I live and most places sell coke products.

I used to drink only Coca Cola. When I was offered a Pepsi, I was not too happy (the taste was just so different). But with time, I got used to Pepsi, and then I drank only Pepsi. Then there was a time I switched back to Coca Cola. It was a difficult time too. These days, Pepsi or Coca Cola are all good.

This has happened before, and it usually ends with people just moving on. As for soda in general, I am like you. I generally don't drink it. Most of the time I prefer water. If I do get soda, it is always a white soda, and I don't care if it is Sprite or Sierra Mist. To me they essentially taste the same. But certainly, Coke and Pepsi itself taste a bit different. People will get over it and Culver's won't necessarily change their mind unless they see a drop in sales that they foresee having a long term impact. Ultimately people go to Culver's for the burgers. Not the soda, so I don't see this being a long term problem for them. But yes, first-world problem for sure.

I have cut down on soft drinks. I like tangy flavored drinks more than the carbonated ones.
