Redeeming Gift Cards

If you redeem a gift card say, from Amazon. You'll get a code e-mailed to you. It will come with a link that'll take you to your amazon account (if you use the e-mail address linked to your amazon account) and it'll prompt you for the code. Copy and paste the code and the amount will be added to your balance. When you go to buy something, you'll be given the option to pay with your balance, first and use your preferred payment method to pay for the rest (if there is any).

I will use it either way. I just ordered something this morning, but already had some gift cards saved on the account, so I used those to pay.

At times, if suppose I need to buy a product at 400 INR. The Amazon gift voucher is Rs.300. So I type in the GV (Gift Voucher) code and redeem- that means Rs.400 - 300 = 100 as the Net cost. It's similar for some other sites as well.

I use physical cards at Walmart and Sam’s or restaurants.

Always put the gift card in first at any site. Then if you still owe some you pay the rest with a card

When I redeem the Walmart gift card I earn via Bing they send me an e-gift card which I then add to the wallet portion of my Walmart account, when I finally decide what to buy the gift card is included with the payment method. The only other thing I get from sites is cash into paypal.

I usually get Amazon gift card. When the site that is giving me the card says it has arrived there is an easy process you follow to get the card registered on your account in Amazon. Then I choose what I want, make sure I get free shipping, the gift card amount is automatically taken off the total price and whatever is left over I pay from my account,

In my online activities I only opt for cash payout throug PayPal. I never redeem cards.
