Did you know you could freeze fresh cranberries?

That came as a surprise to me. I know you can freeze most foods including some you wouldn't think you could, but fresh cranberries was kind of a surprise to me. I am making some muffins that require fresh cranberries, and on the package it says you can freeze them. I plan to do so, because these are kind of old already. what can you freeze that you did not know you could do?

You can! I'll put the bag of fresh cranberries from the store right in the freezer and have them available all year.

@snowy22315 I probably should have bought more during the holiday season so I could put them in the freezer!

@snowy22315 Milk seems to separate. You can shake it up but it's not quite the same.

As fresh cranberries are only available during a few months a year, I always buy and freeze them, as I do for blueberries.

@snowy22315 Cheaper than to buy the frozen ones when not in season.

@snowy22315 I chop up green pepper and freeze it in small zip bags. Whenever I need green pepper to fry, it works good!

@kobesbuddy Yeah, I believe it, because you can buy it that way.

I froze muscadines last summer. I picked more than I could use. I made jam and had leftovers so they are in my freezer.

@snowy22315 I canned blackberries but freezing would work just as well.

Yes, I know it. I still have frozen cranberries. I have to use them , maybe for smoothie or cupcakes. I freeze almost everything, fruits which are abundant and cheap in summer but scarce expensive in winter.

@snowy22315 Yes. I also freeze bananas but without skin and with lemon juice for later use in making smoothie.

You can freeze almost anything, so that wouldn't have surprised me.

@snowy22315 Depends on a lot of factors, too. How you freeze a product, how cold the freezer is, how long the product has been in said freezer, and what method is used to thaw said product.

Well I did not, but logic would tell me it is doable.
