There are several things that have happened in the United States since the begging of the country that has carried it along and made it the country it is today. I am listing below the important things that I feel have happened in the US that has made big changes to our way of life. Do you feel there are others that should be added? DeSantos' ban on books in the schools 2023 The insurrection of January 6, 2020 Trump voted into the presidency in 2016 The ENIAC is worked on by Mauchy and Eckert and is thought to be the first programmable electronic digital computer in 1958 with home computers becoming available in 1977 The assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968 Women get the vote in 1924 and, Black Americans did not until 1965 The American Industrial Revolution 1876-1900 The assassination of Abraham Lincoln on April 14, 1865 Freedom from Slavery with The 13th Amendment on January,31,1865 The Continental Congress declares the name of the new nation to be the "UnitedStaes" of America on September 9, 1776

I also would add the same as @LindaOHio, the assassination of John F. Kennedy November 22, 1963 and the impeachment of Richard Nixon on February 6, 1974.
