My friend is not co-operating with the doctors

I have talked about this friend here in a different post who went through a hip surgery. She has loads of comorbidities such as diabetes and heart issues
After the surgery she was brought home and in a few days time she had issues with breathing and was once again admitted. She was treated for that and the doctor had told her to take complete rest until the pain disappears Instead she sat for hours and went on talking with visitors for hours and this has landed her in trouble in that the wound has opened up and she is once again in pain.
Back to pain killers which we all know will affect her kidneys
There is just so much doctors can do if patients do not co-operate. Right?

You are so right and they finally blame the doctor.

I wonder why she won’t do what the doctor said. He’s not being nasty, the restrictions are for the patient’s own good.

She must be tired of sleeping in one position I did that for 3 months when I had 7 fractured ribs and injured two vertebrae

@allknowing I can imagine that would be frustrating especially if she’s used to being active

Most patient when they suffer for long stop cooperating with the doctor. They need counseling to bring back that charm in life.

@aninditasen They could have seen to it that the mother follows the doctor's advice

@allknowing That's the difficulty. Some children think that if they are spending money for their parents that's enough. They forget that their sick parents need mental support.

Indeed, if a patient is not listening to his/her doctor's advice, there's not much a doctor can do to help the patient.

I was wondering what her children were doing. They could have not let her do that

@allknowing I think not much her children can do if she doesn't take good care of herself.
