Power Grid Attacks in the News Again

Last week FBI thwarted attempts by two Neo-Nazi extremists in targeting a Baltimore area power station.
Brandon Russell and Sara Clendanel were arrested for allegedly planning an attack wanting to "permanently lay the city to waste." They are affiliated with Atomwaffen which is a racial and ethnic extremist Neo-Nazi group.
This is the latest one in a string of such planned shooting attacks with high-powered rifles. The most recent attack was when Pacific Gas and Electric received extreme damage from gunfire on January 26, 2022. One was also fired upon in North Carolina in December where 35,000 residents were without power. Each one of these attacks takes time to repair and costs thousands of dollars.
This is very concerning and just reminds us all how insecure our power grids across the U.S. are.

You know what’s sad? If you put them in a prison with no electricity they’d whine about how inhumane that was.

I was going to say it happened here in NC. But not in the town I live in. I didn't know it was a neo nazi group that did it.

The owners of these grids need to secure their plants.

The hard part of this is that the government doesn't own these grids. Privately owned. They need to get these places secured because who knows where these factions will strike next?

It has happened here in Oregon too, as well as Washington. The only way to protect those places is in concrete walls.

It's a good idea. The sooner the better too.
