The phantom post-box decorator is at it again!

Things have been quiet around here for a while, maybe because we had a lot of wet weather, or maybe it was just the post-Christmas lull, but now the phantom post-box decorator has made a reappearance. We don’t know who the knitter/crocheter is but they have been at it again, this time with a sort of Valentine’s day theme, adding a white ‘hat’ decorated with red hearts to this pillar box. It was given an added trim with frost crystals on a recent frosty morning! All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2023.

That's a double crochet pattern. I used that a lot making blankets and lap-rugs.

You're an expert, obviously I'm only a beginner at crochet.

@Fleura I don't know how many blankets I made over the years. Some I sold and some I gave as gifts.

Haha - I was thinking that wasn't double crochet but of course your double crochet is our (English) treble.

That's very cute but what a lot of work to go to. How long will it stay there do you think? Will it simply disappear one day?

Yes, they usually stay for around a month and then just disappear!

Well, somebody has too much time on their hands. It's not you, is it?

Why go incognito? This person needs recognition.

If possible a hidden camera could be set up to catch the decorator in the act.

True, but it isn't always the same postbox that is chosen!

I actually like the surprise and suspense it gives to your neighborhood. I hope he/she keeps doing it as long as they can and never gets caught. He/she probably enjoys coming up with new ideas and new places to put them as well.

It's adorable. I wonder if you'll ever find out who did it.
