Questioning

This morning Bruno (aka Zeus) is wandering the house looking for Bitty. He has a questioning sound in his voice.
They are not super chummy, but he puts up with her nonsense, and she tries to be his friend and annoy him. She is at the vet. We are having her spayed.
Bruno is already neutered.
He is a huge cat, and although she has caught up in her growth, she will always tend to be "Bitty".
She will be back tomorrow and next month he will get a check up and a rabies shot. I want ideas for getting him fit. He is a huge cat to begin with, and my sister tends to overfeed animals.
So this morning I am listening to the cat, and reassuring him, as I get ready to go to work.
Have a great day.

“Where is my friend, I mean, that pest?” We can see right through you, Bruno.

No, maybe that would work. Since moving here he has not wanted any of his old toys. He has a floppy fish that you can charge. Both he and Bitty just look at it.

Yes, it is. Of course some of it is her sudden "maturity" as she would very sweetly try to cuddle, then the next minute hiss and fight. Poor Bruno has had a lot of changes in his life.

He will be happy when she is home. Just keep his food limited and try to keep him active

Getting him active will be the problem.- They get about a half cup of dry food daily, treats to distract them from the door when I go out, and a small serving of wet food once daily. I may go back to making homemade wet food as it always worked well for me in the past.

@GardenGerty You can do things like putting the food up so he has to climb to get to it.

Cut back on food and treats and try to engage him in play.

Yes, he got cut back a lot when he came here. He likes to lay around too much, though. He does play and scuffle with Bitty. He is too large to do much jumping and running.

When we lost Nimmi one our pet dogs her mother Naaki roamed the whole house searching for her.
I think Bruno has a love hate relationship with your Bitty.

Yes. Poor guy. . . his person disappeared and he moved to a new place and now his buddy/pest has vanished.

Multiple forms of enrichment is good for cats, sometimes it really depends on what kind of toys, sometimes cats don't like toys at all and get excited about straws or lids off containers haha but playing does help
