The Silence Of The Night.

You get up in the morning happy to be awake --a beautiful sunrise, birds chirping in the trees. If you live close enough to your neighbor, the smell of coffee, fried bakes or eggs waft through your window. You feel relaxed and at peace with the world - but for how long? Soon enough, a neighbor's lawn mower gets going . Perhaps the dogs are seeing a strange object in the sky, because l see nothing on the ground to warrant their furious barking. On the road, traffic has increased - so has the noise. Heavy delivery trucks toot their horns as they round every corner - and a motorist is in his own world as music blares loudly from his vehicle. It is only 10a.m and l long for the silence of the night and early daylight. What sounds, scents and scenes do you find relaxing - and which do you find most annoying? Pixabay image

I enjoy peaceful days. During the spring and especially the summer there are many mowers, but I just use my earbuds and turn up the music. I try to stay out of traffic. You know the birds are my favorite, and my coffee in the mornings. Loud noises can be annoying and disturbing at times. But I find ways to wrk around them.

I love the image you chose for your post. So peaceful. I like the early morning quiet. Though where I live, it's generally quiet here. I do smell the coffee when I get out of the apartment to walk and hear televisions playing. It's a comfortable feeling.

Nature sounds as long as they are not insects I enjoy. I don't like any early construction or mowing noises.

You did? I will look for the post. As the day progresses everything intensifies - noises, other irritants, oh for the peace and quiet of the evening.

I love floral scents too and spending Time on my balcony. Talking about perfumes. - they should whisper, not shout.

I enjoy listening to the sound of ocean waves, birds chirping in the morning and children's laughter. I find car horns annoying.

Not much noise where I stay and I love the chirping of birds - we have plenty of them coming specially to frolic in the bird bath

I do not hear that much noise. Only on Wednesday the trash truck picking up the trash makes a lot of noise.

I like the chirping of the birds early in the morning but I hate the loud sound of trucks and busses and sometimes late night loud music. I love smooth melodies.

I don’t care for honking horns especially if I’m trying to sleep or cars revving their engines. I use my own horn so infrequent that when I actually need to use it for something it takes me to long to even figure out where it is. They have all been in different spots in the vehicles I have owned.

I love the sounds of nature, trees, wind, rain, and birds. I don´t like the noises coming from the engines of cars, people talking out loud and thunder strikes
@Kandae11 (57231)
15 Feb 23
Thunder strikes are frightening - even though the danger comes from the lightning.

I love living in the country. The worst thing that aggravates the mess out of me is a guy who apparently doesn't work and drives his car past our house at least twice a day with his "music" blaring so loud it almost rattles the dishes. The bass speakers are horrendous. We asked the sheriff to do something, but apparently it's not illegal. I bet it would suddenly become illegal if that sheriff had to hear it every day.
@Kandae11 (57231)
15 Feb 23
I know exactly what you are talking about. Something should be done about it because that kind of noise nuisance could be dangerous for the driver himself as well as other road users.

It's not too bad here but sometimes the noise of planes gets to me. We are near quite a busy airport and, although we have extra thick glass to combat the noise, the planes can still be noisy.

It's normally quiet here, occasionally a dog barks and someone goes by blowing leaves.I live in a back apartment so I don't hear the traffic on the street unless I'm outside.
