What is wrong with people?

Last week I shared a news story about the school resource officer from the alternative school here in our district.
Well I was scrolling the news on my google homepage and saw a mugshot that I recognized from the Walton County Arrests a few days ago.
I didn't bother clicking on his mugshot when I saw it a few days ago, but I still recognized the picture when I saw it on the news feed.
It appears this man thought it was appropriate to sleep in the bed with an eight year old, and then touch said child.
What is wrong with people? How does someone justify that and say it's okay!?

@thislittlepennyearns I have to agree. There is no other way to reconcile the two activities/'professions'.

@JudyEv They released more of the story this morning through their news app. The dude was a friend of the family, he spent the night at the kids families house in a spare room and the parents of the kid were woke up in the middle of the night by the kid telling them that the man was in his bed touching him.

That does not look like a man to me..a mannish woman maybe. But besides that yeah..going to hell for that crime.

I thought it was a woman when I saw the mugshot for the first time as well. So you aren't alone in thinking that.
I've talked to people who have been in jail/prison and they said that the one criminal that everybody hates are the pedophiles.
I hope he gets his @ss whooped in jail.

so you are saying, that it is okay that this grown man touched an eight year old.
because it very plainly says in the story that the child told them how and where the man touched the kid.
That is not okay.

I have always thought that people who do this kind of thing are the sickest and most depraved and should be looked away for life,

Someone commented on this post and said that there are two sides to every story. As if there was any excuse for this to be considered normal behaviour.
Our nine year old will cuddle with us and watch a movie, but there is no circumstance where I would consider it ok for her to be in the bed all night.
