Doing some gardening

DIY-ing

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing just fine. As for me, I feel high after accomplishing my long-time dream of having a vegetable garden. Only that I have to wait for its produce. But it's okay, patience is one of my virtues. The picture, by the way, is my husband helping me tend the plot, which must say is the hardest part of planting. The timing was great because the sun is up but it isn't as hot as a summer day since clouds come covering it every so often. The high prices, you know inflation, was a a good motivation for me to finally realize my dream. It's crazy how prices keeps soaring nowadays. I planted some bittergourd, tomatoes, eggplant, okra and some spinach. I also have local lemons and red chili peppers. I am already excited to harvest. What about you, have you ever tried planting? Or any DIYs?

How much do onions cost in your area? The price hike is still shocking and unacceptable.

Oh yeah, onion prices soared reaching up to around 20dollars per kilo. But after the government's importation, it is now around 7 dollars per kilo. The price lowered but not as low as then which was only less than a dollar per kilo. What about in your area, how is it?

@MrDenata Have you considered planting on recycled soda bottles. I have seen some videos on that. They call it urban gardening.

That's great that you now have a vegie garden. It's so satisfying to harvest your own vegetables. I have pumpkin and watermelon growing.

@Yadah04 - We all seed inside around mid-March but moving the young plants outside before the end of April is a risk, they mostly would not survive.

good for us we live in the tropics and we can plant all year round. though planting during the rainy season is most advised. you have to wait for summer then. but yeah, snow, i wanted to experience that.

@Yadah04 I've been gardening since I was in preschool. My mom would always keep a vegetable garden in our property. I learned to grow vegetables from seed, tend to them, and harvest them. :o) Now that I run my own home, I always make it a point to grow something that would bear fruit or vegetable. It's like second nature.
25 Feb 23
you are a lovely gardener. I love bittergourd, tomatoes, brinjals

It gives an amazing feeling to have our very own garden. We can yield fresh vegetables & can use them. It is organic and good for health too.
