In the Philippines, some Filipinos describe someone who is denying involvement in or responsibility for the bad deeds committed and it can be literally said, 'Washing the Hand' (naghuhugas ng kamay). As my father's younger sister is doing lately. I assumed that guilt is lingering in her senses now. I continue to ignore it because I do not want to be in touch with her anymore. Have you ever encountered a person like this? Image Credit: cmaconsult.com

@rakski You said it right. @Icydoll This evil aunt of ours is not a good relative to me and my family. She even one of the close friends of my mom. I do not want to do anything with her anymore. I can sense that the guilt is making her feel more guilty these days.

We all know from who this saying comes "Pontius Pilate" the Roman prefect of Judaea of preferred not to take a position about Jesus. The politicians are all like this.

I can agree more of you. Most politicians are like this. They can always have alibis not to feel the guilt of doing wrong things in their society.

That is what I am doing towards her and the other siblings of her's. 'The more I ignored her, the more she is feeling the guilt.'

We use the same here too in the same context. Well, sorry to hear about your aunt. Guess we all get someone like that from time to time.

It is okay. At least, I had said so many things with her to realize what she did to us. She hated me more when we had the last confrontation. Well, the feeling is mutual.

Yup. I ever heard of the terms used before. But thankfully, no such incidents happen that made someone use that yet in the family. Though, it maybe for some other things.

I hope it would not happen in your family. It is best to ignore them and let God does his course of action in time.

I am glad that we cut the tie to her and the other siblings before the pandemic. She is not contacting me, but trying to get in touch with my siblings. She knew how I hated her.

We talk of washing one's hands of something or other, much the same as you are talking about here. It's a shame you're estranged from your aunt but these things happen from time to time.

She used to be my mom's best friend. Not until she got married, she changed and hated us. I had so many bad experiences with her since our childhood. When I grew up, I learned to fight back. That makes her more agitated, which I do not care. She needs to realize it and be guilty about it.
