SNOW!

The weather has been so weird this year so far! The unheard of has finally happened -- snow in San Jose! My 14 year old and their dad hopped in the car a little while ago after we heard it was snowing at one of the county parks. I just got sent a few videos and pictures of them having fun in the snow, including the snowmen that they built. I'm a bit envious of them, but I couldn't risk going and reinjuring my ankle any further. Snow and dirt paths and crutches are a bad mix. I wonder how long it will stick to the ground?

This Coal Belt-born kid misses it sometimes. I don't miss the cold, but I do miss how pretty the snow can be on the trees.

Oh wow, you guys did get snow! Yah, you don't need to slip in that snow. We just ended up with itty bitty hail - but it was plenty exciting even if it pretty much melted right away.

@spiderdust Our hills got some snow, but maybe not that much. I really wish we could have hiked there just to see it, but were away from home (plus Hubby's back was hurting). It'd be cool to actually have some in our own yard - but that hasn't happened yet.

So does it snow once in a few years in your place? Not very heavy, but the snow looks quite significant in the above picture.

@spiderdust So it's a unique phenomenon and yet another example of the climate upheaval that the whole planet is going through!

It hasn't snowed like this in the entire 20+ years I've lived here.

I'm sorry you're missing out. From the looks of the wooden table in your photo, I'd guess most of the snow will be gone before it gets dark or shortly thereafter.

That's a fence rail, I think.

@spiderdust It still shouldn't be wet if it was cold enough to let the snow stick around for any length of time.

@DaddyEvil It started raining last night, so I'm sure it's all gone now.

That is amazing. Wonder when it happened last? Portland, OR. got its second most ever amount, ten inches. I am one hundred miles south and we got none. I am glad.

Nope! Not even the areas that "never" get snow.

I don't blame you, I wouldn't want to do that. But you're right, snow is nice from a distance.

@spiderdust I'm so sorry you have injured your ankle! You poor thing! I'm sorry if I missed the post about how you were injured. Hope you heal ASAP. I love the photo! I've never been near snow before so I always enjoy seeing it online or on TV.

I hate s**w. I'm sorry you couldn't go out and play in the s**w. It was really warm here yesterday; and it's 29 today. Go figure! Have a good weekend.

Wow, snow in San Jose!! I will have to ask my in-laws how they are. They must be both shocked and happy.
