Can you trust the online trip diaries of other people?

I occasionally read people's online journals, but I don't always take them seriously since I have a sneaking suspicion that the assertions might be embellished. If the journals are accompanied by images or videos, however, I will unquestionably believe the people's accounts of their travels.
When you disagree with someone, what would you do?

Did you see the expose of some famous YouTubers where they show proof the people didn't actually do the things they were claiming they did? Even with "video or photo proof", I don't believe a lot of things online personalities post about themselves or their trips.
I also don't believe people on Fb actually own the things they say they own. They've borrowed the cars and clothes and have to give the stuff back to the owners after fooling their friends online. (One young girl and a young man borrowed an expensive car and stomped dents into it and broke the windshield. They're being sued by the person who loaned them the car now.)

@Shavkat It's easy to borrow or rent cars, houses or clothes and fool people online.
True, unless she was very wealthy when she got here, then there are very few jobs that would allow her to obtain fancy things quickly.

It depends, some people have to make themselves look good even if they lie. I can't imagine living a life full of lies of where I have traveled.
