Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials answered an emergency call on Saturday afternoon in Cape Coral Florida when a 32 foot boat that was on the Caloosahatchee River crashed into the Cape Coral Bridge and sank into the river.
The Cape Coral police officers sent helicopters and boats to rescue the passengers that were aboard the boat that sank into the river.
The passengers aboard the boat were taken to the local hospital where their conditions have not been released to the public.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officials are investigating the cause of the accident. The good thing of this accident was that no one passed away in the accident that happened during the daytime hours.

@RubyHawk Since the boat was sinking into the river, it was damaged. It is lucky that the bridge did not collapse though.

@Deepizzaguy I would think the boat and bridge were badly damaged.

That is good news indeed because collision with boats and bridges usually end up in a tragic ending involving fafatlies.

That is true since when a boat crashes into a bridge, the risk of a fatality does increase.

I am glad they were all saved but now I think that the captain should be checked to see why the crash happened in the first place, I mean how could you not see a bridge and crash into it???

Maybe the captain of the boat was distracted on the river due to the activity aboard the boat.

I am in agreement with you that the passengers are safe and sound after they were rescued by law enforcement officials in the river.
