Dried fruits

Apricots and figs are my favourite among dried fruits although I do like most of them. Both figs and apricots are a bit hard on the teeth and so I soak them in sugar syrup when they turn soft and taste better. I just read about dates being loaded with nutrients with zero cholesterol. I will search for some quality dates and may start adding them to my daily diet. What dried fruits do you normally eat? Image credit:https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DriedfruitS.jpg

At home I have prunes, apricots, figs, dates and raisins. My husband has to eat them for their nutrients. My favorite dates are the big Medjoul, a lot more expensive but my favorite.

I like raisins as they are readily available here. Prunes are also my favorite since childhood but they are rather hard to come by here. We have dried mango here the green and the yellow ones are also good here as well as dried pineapple too.

@allknowing As cashew and peanuts are the most widely available here, even though I adore other nuts, they are my favorites.

We were introduced to dried fruits by our brother (who is no more) Dried fruits even in those days were expensive and inspite of limited funds he picked those for us and that is how I got hooked on and they are my favourite.

I eat dates because we always have it in our fridge, they are regularly given to us by friends who work in the. Middle east but I only take small bite because it's very sweet. I like prunes and dried ripe mangoes.

Next time your friends from the Middle East ask them for the Medjoul dates that are huge in size. I bought them here once after I got the taste that my niece gave me I do not need to eat dried ripe mangoes as mangoes grow in our garden
