Sagadahoc County Sheriff Deputy named Mark Andreson answered a call from the owner of a female dog who is around 14 years of age who left the home of his owner in Arrowsic Maine on Friday evening to take a walk.
When the dog failed to return to the home of his owner, the owner was concerned that his dog would be lost and she would never return home safely due to the cold weather.
Officer Anderson went to the neighborhood where the dog was seen in the area. Officer Anderson was able to locate the dog whose name was not released on a ditch shivering and near death.
Officer Anderson picked up the dog and placed her inside his cruiser to take her to the Sagadahoc County dispatch center in Bath where the officials warmed up the dog with blankets and a portable heater before giving her a meal that she ate.
Officer Anderson then made flyers that were then shown to the neighbors in the area in an attempt to locate the owner of the dog which was successful in the ability to reunite with the dog.
The owner of the dog is very grateful that Officer Anderson was able to find the dog in the ditch and taking the dog to an animal hospita and then use flyers to reunite the dog with the owner early on Saturday morning.

I have a soft spot for dogs who are in their senior years of life.

How nice! He was okay and reunited with his owner. That is sure what counts.

That is very true since the dog does deserve the right to live with her owner for as long as her time permits.

I am glad the dog will be all right but I want to know why she was in the ditch in the first place and not home with her owner,

Apparently the dog must have gotten lost in the cold weather and in an act of being curious fell into a ditch.

I am in agreement with you since the poor dog could have perished in the cold weather had Officer Anderson does not save her.

The dog in the picture could be a husky or mixed breed husky.

@Deepizzaguy Glad to hear that the dog was able to reunite with the owner. 14 years of age for dog, that's quite senior already.

That is what I am thinking why did the dog stay out of the home for such a long time.
