Marching In

In about 5 hours and 35 minutes, March will march into eastern North Carolina. I realize it is already March in many parts of the world. I'm still trying to digest the fact that 2 months of 2023 have passed. Where did they go? Spring is still 3 weeks away on the calendar, but you wouldn't know it from being outside here today. The high was nearly 80F/25C. Flowers are blooming, trees are leafing, and the frogs are raising a nightly ruckus with their peeping. I hope for the sake of all the plants and animals who've been tricked into thinking spring has sprung that we don't get hit with a severe cold snap in the next few weeks. The old saying is that if March comes in like a lamb, it will go out like a lion. We are predicted t have a very lambish beginning of March. I wonder what that bodes for then end of the month. How is March looking for y'all in your neck of the planet?

March came in like a lamb here, I hope it doesn't go out like a lion, or it will come in in about three hours.

We're camping at the beach the last weekend in March, so I hope it is like it was today while we are there.

We reached 68F in my part of Missouri... More thunderstorms and cold weather predicted here starting Wednesday evening. But I'm also at the edge of the Ozark Mountains, too.

We're out here on the Inner Coastal Plains. The next few days are supposed to be nice, but as the weekend gets here, we're supposed to cool off and see rain.

@DaddyEvil So many of our plants have been tricked into thinking it's spring that we are already getting pollen coating the truck in the driveway. A bad cold snap could be very damaging.

@DWDavis Yeah, you're East of me so you'll be getting my leftovers. I hope it is ONLY rain for you, even if we do get rain/ice/snow mix. Good luck!

March will certainly come in as a lamb here, too. I have a good feeling it will go out as a lamb as well. Of course I’m not talking about Connecticut.

I have a feeling the place you are talking about is like a lamb all the time.

I think Australia needs to reschedule March as a summer month as it's usually just a hot as February although it's supposed to be the first month of autumn.

March is the start of our autumn but I think they should readjust their thinking and make it part of summer. March is always at least as hot as February here.
