Does your family usually eat breakfast at home or out?

Every morning, I wake up early to cook for the whole family. That's great. But sometimes it's still a bit inconvenient when I feel tired and my husband/daughter doesn't want to eat home cooked food. Have you had a similar experience?

Being as I'm from and live in the US we have breakfast food that like cereal and stuff that the kids can eat in the morning or they can get a hot breakfast for free at school in the morning. It's an option here. Sometimes on the weekend I'll make the kids a hot breakfast but not always usually they are saved for like breakfast for dinner and a lot of times my kids do not like eating first thing in the morning like both me and my husband. I always ask the kids in the morning if they want something to eat a lot of times my youngest will ask for cereal or oatmeal sometimes a frozen waffle. We don't really eat breakfast out that often usually only on vacation.

In fact, my young daughter also gets to prepare a hot breakfast at school. But I still want her to be able to eat breakfast that I prepare and watch by me. I think breakfast is very important. I'm afraid my daughter won't have a full breakfast if she eats it at school.

@tkonlinevn nothing wrong with that but I can't force my kids to eat when they are not hungry, we teach my kids it's their body, there space if they don't want to eat, they don't have to. This allows children to understand how their bodies work it also doesn't force body issues. If they feel hungry, they will eat if not they won't and that's okay. My youngest has lunch at 10am when he has had either cereal, oatmeal today it was breakfast cookies at 7:20am. He also drinks warm chocolate milk in the morning, My kids provided school breakfast because school starts so early in the morning and for some kids they roll out of bed, get on the bus, or in the car and have to go to school and parents don't have time to make breakfast or find a quick breakfast for on the go. Also, on the bus you're not allowed to eat. A lot of teachers in my kids' school will let the kids bring their breakfast in and eat it during morning announcement.

@ShyBear88 I understand you. But do you think that eating in moderation is a healthy habit? I really hope the kids and the whole family can get into the habit of moderation. Children can eat less if they are not hungry. But I usually don't allow them to skip meals.

I can't picture doing this, at least not very often. We only eat breakfast out when on trips, or for something special. There is one place, very pricey, that has a wonderful breakfast on weekends, fresh fruits, omelets made to order, and such. But it is a big treat, we do that usually about once a year. If I have my own preference, I want to be at home in the mornings.

My daughter and I eat at different times and usually, different foods. I prefer heating something up from the freezer and eating it for breakfast and she cooks cereal when she wakes up.

If I'm at home with parents, they will prepare it. But if I'm alone living with other tenants when I go to the campus, of course I prepare it myself. Sometimes buy outside.

@Adie04 You are really good. When I was single, I lived with a few friends, and we rarely cooked at home. Now, I love to cook!

@tkonlinevn Not all single people rarely cook though. I am still single and I cook though simple food, but I still cook. If you remember your other post I'm commenting about the utensils and current economy, that's another reason why I cook at home. Another reason I cook is that I can prevent the food contamination compared to outside food. One of my friends who is also single also cook too.

I just got off of work when the kids were waking up to go to school. I fixed a nice breakfast for the ones who wanted it and the rest ate cereal. Than I dropped them at school. Went home and went to sleep after I did what i needed to do for the day.
