I woke up to a beautiful project to have better nourished children and seniors.

I was taking my nap and suddenly I woke up to a lady talking about using not so good veggies and fruit to make smoothies for undernourished children at first. They started during the covid watching children that could not be fed at school and that were undernourished and also obese as their parents knew nothing about nutrition. In my country the government feeds many of the children who are very poor. They are fed at school to see that the nourishment goes to where it should go. With the covid that programme ended and this NGO found a wonderful method to feed the children. They went to where the veggies and fruit went first and asked them to give them all the surplus. With that they made smoothies and they composted the rest. They bought a machine to make the compost and a place to do it. That smoothies were all vitamin and the children loved it. On the second phase they went to where cattle and other meat was killed and they made hamburgers with what they could do. The children has proteins! Now they are thining on something for seniors as seniors cannot eat what young people do. They hope to have less obese children in the future. When I was a child there was hardly any overweight child here. Now, with the fast food chains all around and the sedentarism, children are all like Little Lulu´s Tubby. Do you have such problem in your contry?

In America there are many children who are either obese or underweight. There is a food bank for senior in Lake Charles that brings meals once a month on the third week of the month via a Catholic charity.

All the vegetables not sold and that become to look "tired" are collected by the charities at the end of the day and used to prepare food for the poor. In France it is mandatory that the supermarkets give the goods that are going to expire, here it is not mandatory but all big grocery stores donate to the charities.

In America, if children are allowed to eat all the fast food available here they get quite obese.

Yes, obesity in the United States is widespread. I, myself, am too fat. There are various programs to feed children, adults and seniors.

In school especially in the public institution, kids are well monitored by their respective class advisers especially their body mass index. Obese kids are given much attention.

We have A LOT of overweight children and adults. Honestly, some are huge. It's very worrying. Many aren't poor but I guess they must live on junk food.

I didn't see fat people when I was growing up but now I see them everywhere I go, children and adults.

Here in the Caribbean children get healthy meals in schools. It is good that they are thinking of the seniors as well.
