The recipe is the same as that of a sponge cake but try to roll it and then you will know that it is not as easy as a sponge cake
I have tried making it but when I roll it has always broken. It depends perhaps on the thickness of the cake neither too thick nor too thin The only way is to try try again and then you will succeed kind of approach.
For the stuffing one can choose chocolate, marshmallow, cream. .......

@allknowing And we do not call them Swiss Rolls here, they are called Biskuitroulade or Roulade, because those rolls were not invented here, but in America. You have to roll the sponge cake immediately in a clean kitchen towel when it is still very hot from the oven.

I made one a few months ago, just out of curiosity of the process.
My cake did not break, but it needs to be rolled as soon as it comes out of the oven in a clean towel.
I think that is the only way to be sure that it will not break as it is still plyable while hot like that.

How was the cloth removed after the cake was rolled?

@allknowing They just peeled it off carefully. A tiny bit of cake came with it but not enough to spoil it. They left it rolled in the cloth for a little while.

I have eaten three but have next made one. I think the thickness of the cake definitely would be a lot if different on it rolling or breaking. I had read to roll it to lay it on a damp roll it up they way. I haven’t tried it though so I don’t know what really works for sure.

Suggestions are that it should be done when the cake is hot and yes on a cloth

I haven't tried making them, but I think they look great I especially like the look of a Yule log.
