When I was working my then boss got a transfer to the US and his wife mentioned to me that if ever I take a trip to the US I should take a train journey by Amtrak along the sea coast of California And I got that opportunity After my package tour of the US I stayed back and visited friends and family through the length and breadth of the US including California. One friend lived in San Francisco and another at San Jose. That is the time we travelled to Oxnard where my nephew was living That was a never to forget travel - 200 KM of travel along with sea coast. My dream was fulfilled. What's your unforgettable memory? We did not ride the Amtrak, but my husband drove all along the coastline from San Diego up to Seattle Washington State). It was a beautiful long journey.

@allknowing - Yes, we stopped in San Simeon one day and one night to visit the Hearst castle. We also stopped one day in Santa Barbara, a couple of days in San Francisco and two days in Oregon.

The train did not go further than Santa Barbara due to some fault and we were then put in a bus to take us to Oxnard - yet another memorable experience.

You remind of our trip to USA. We took the Amtrak from Los Angeles to San Francisco. And later we rented a car to drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles. And we stopped by some cities on the way and it is a nice journey.

We hopped into several flights to cover several US States. New York, Buffalo, Washington, Florida, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The sight seeing was done travelling by bus. Those were in the package tour. Later I covered a few more States again by flight visiting friends and family

We've driven along the coast of California several times. It's beautiful. The births of my children and grandchildren are my most unforgettable memories.
