Thanks to the efforts of the United States Coast Guard officers based in St. Petersburg Florida as well as the St. Petersburg Fire Department who teamed up on Saturday evening when an eyewitness called them for help after the eyewitness saw a 22 year old man whose name was not released was in the Gulf Of Mexico for a period of eight hours after a barge dragged him into the water. The 22 year old man was seen near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge around midnight and the cooperation of the firefighters and the USCG went searching for him when the USCG found the man around 4:30am near Egmont Key. The USCG officials were able to get the man of the water and take him to their headquarters where members of EMS took the rescued man to a local hospital where is in stable condition, Being in the water for a period of eight hours must have taken a mental toll on the man who most likely was treated by the doctors in the hospital for exhaustion. @celticeagle That is very true based on news reports of persons who are involved in boating accidents where the accident victims says that they rely on prayers to keep them going.

I hope so as well since being in the water most likely wearing a life vest would take a toll on anyone physically and well as mentally.

I am sure that the man who was in the water may have been wearing a life vest even though the report did not mention if he was wearing a life vest or not.

Eight hours is a long time to be in the water. I'm sure he'd be pretty exhausted.

That is true that being in the water is scary since the person that was rescued is one lucky man to have the stamina to stay afloat unless he was wearing a life vest.
