A neighbor who lives in Buda Texas noticed that his neighbor who is female and did not give her name was working at the zoo in Buda Texas 20 years ago called Animal World And Snake Farm as a volunteer and she decided to steal the baby alligator at the time to make the alligator whose is female.. By the time by the game wardens and zoo officials were able to work as a team to take alligator back to the zoo where he or she was born, the alligator was seven feet long. It is against the law in Texas to own an alligator as a pet without having a permit. Since the illegal owner of the alligator could not buy a permit, the alligator is going back home to spend the rest of her life with the company of her fellow alligators. I am not sure what penalty the female who stole the alligator will face other she is likely to be fined and not allowed to visit the alligator she stole from the zoo. Like I said before why would anyone want to have an alligator as a pet even if it against the law, I will never know. Link is:foxatlanta.com/news/gator-rem...

Who would steal an alligator?!?!? Glad he took that thing back! Those things are dangerous once they get big.

That is the zoo officials and the sheriff's department mentioned that no one should ever steal an alligator in the first place in Texas without a permit.

I will never know either. Alligators are too large and dangerous for pets.

They are too big to live outside of a house.

@RubyHawk Neither would want to see a live alligator outside of my home either.

@Deepizzaguy I surely wouldn’t want to have an alligator outside my house.

That is what I am wondering why steal a baby gator? I can understand wanting to adopt a puppy or kitten but not a baby gator.

@RebeccasFarm That is what I am wondering why would the owner of the alligator want to have one? I would love to have mixed breed Beagle but I cannot afford to feed a dog anymore.

@rakski It would be a scary scene for the neighbors inside of the area seeing an alligator walking in the streets.

I think the alligator lived in the outside of the home in a swimming pool.

It bothers me that a person would steal a baby alligator just before the baby was born.

@JamesHxstatic I can understand persons stealing food from a supermarket during a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina forcing the residents to steal food to survive.

I am just surprised that a former zoo volunteer would steal an alligator just before the animal was born since I have heard of stories who live in poor neighborhoods that steal food from a supermarket just to survive.

She was probably fined since it was her first offense. Maybe some community service.

She is likely to be fined since even though stealing a baby alligator is not a serious crime. I mean the punishment fit the crime.

That is what I am thinking because I would adopt a Doberman Pinscher first before I would adopt an alligator.

I wonder where she kept it. I can't imagine it having a very good life with an 'ordinary' citizen.

She probably kept the gator in a shed outside of her home.

A baby alligator is one thing; but a 7-foot alligator is way too dangerous.

That is very true. One thing to raise a puppy. Some puppies when they become adults are very huge like sheepdogs.
