A strange story from Florida

I am sure that anyone of us who would see a hand that is detached from a human body, we would call the police to inform them about a possible crime.
On Monday afternoon fishermen in Matlacha Florida who were near a canal saw what appeared to be a human hand in the water.
The fishermen contacted the Lee County Sheriff's Office to check out what they saw.
When the Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the scene, they were able to retrieve the hand who was in the canal three feet deep.
Lee County Sheriff's deputy Corporal Jay Brett used a mini barge to remove the hand from the water.
The deputy found out that the hand he retrieved from the water was that of a mannequin.
The fishermen did not get in trouble since the police thanked the fishermen since it is better to be report anything that looks like a crime.
Better to be safe than sorry in these cases.

That is true since the deputy is thankful that fishermen made an error that the hand was from a mannequin and not a human hand.

I would be scared as well if I saw a real life limb in a body of water.

Better to make an error based on a mannequin's hand than a real life hand so the police can solve the crime.

@sjvg1976 I agree with you since if it had been a real hand, the police would have been concerned that a major crime.

That is a good question since I am sure that mannequin broke up when it landed in the water after someone threw it away.

@Deepizzaguy Why would they throw the mannequin in the canal to get rid of it?

I am sure that the hand of the mannequin fell off when the mannequin was thrown into the canal by the person who got rid of it.

I am in agreement with you since if it been a real hand in the water, I would have freaked out as well.
