A round-the-wrong-way blow-up screen

At the finish of the Harmony Day that we attended recently in Treeby, Western Australia, the film, Wonder, was shown on a blow-up screen. They had trouble getting the generator to work and in the end they ran an extension cord from the clubhouse on the oval to the screen. Then, when they started the film, all the words were back-to-front and mirror-image. We should all have been sitting on the other side of the screen. However, they didn’t move us all but just carried on which was fine except when two boys were messaging each other and we couldn’t read the words quick enough. From time to time, the breeze would cause a ripple in the screen which was also a bit disconcerting. It was a great film but I’ll do another post about it. I’ll then have the opportunity to put another photos of the ethnic dancers.

Very colorful costumes they're wearing. Are they from Sri Lanka?

I forgot to ask, will they try to show that movie again only in the right way?

@rebelann No, it was a once-off at the park and put on by the local authorities.

Thankfully the words in your post are not a mirror image! I can read it just fine...

It didn't make too much difference to most of it.

They expected you to have a mirror or read backwards? I’m glad you still enjoyed the film.

It would have taken too long to switch the projector or make us all move or whatever.

It was. The short pieces I could manage but not the longer phrases.

Sounds like they have some kinks to work out for the next time they do something like this. What beautiful outfits on the young dancers.

It's so easy for some little thing to go wrong at times like this.

I didn't think it would matter about the movie but of course the words were difficult to read.

I'd like to see it again one day. I always pick up more the second time I see a film.
