What now?? A Potentially Deadly Fungus Is Among Us?

I have seen several notices lately (the latest one from AARP) that there is scary fungus
that is spreading rapidly, especially in nursing homes and even hospitals. It has a really bad effect on patients who are already ill or have low immune systems. One in three are dying if they get it.
There are drugs that can treat it and more on the way. It can be spread from surfaces as well. Healthy individuals are not in as much danger.
Good grief, we can't get rid of one thing before another threatens.
I'm glad that we live on our own and not in any kind of group setting.

That is disturbing. And the Covid variants are in no hurry to leave either

@JamesHxstatic I read that some animal brought it in but I can't find my notes on it.

Sounds like a plot in a sci-fi movie.
Hope this doesn't last long.

Remember all those poor nursing home patients dying by the dozens at the start of covid?
Well, even if we 'stay away' from nursing homes, this may wind up being the same.
Many people are getting it.
Deadly.

Sounds like a creepy rhyme a fungus among us. You know here I was thinking that this spring I would start getting out more and going to the beach and getting fresh air because our streets are not so crowded. However, with this news I might never leave my apartment again, SIGH

Should be okay if you stay away from hospitals & nursing homes.

Well, nursing homes and hospitals are the main targets at this time. So, we can stay away, hopefully.

It good to use air purifiers in every hospital. In India it's available but very few hospitals use it.

It seems like no matter HOW we try to avoid getting sick something
is always around the corner to making us sick 1 way or another.
